About Alexis Ffrench
Few British musicians sit as comfortably between a concert hall and a pop chart as Alexis Ffrench. A classical-soul composer, producer and pianist born in 1970, he has built a catalogue that has passed a billion streams, with Evolution (2018), Dreamland (2020) and Classical Soul Vol. 1 (2024) each reaching No. 1 in the Classical Music Charts. His playing grew from improvisation at the age of four into a distinctive blend of classical training with a fondness for roots music and R&B, a mix that makes his work feel both serious and easy to enter.
Ffrench has headlined the Royal Albert Hall, played Latitude Festival and worked with Paloma Faith, while collaborations have included FIFA, Tiffany & Co. and the fashion houses Miyake and Hugo Boss. His single "Bluebird", released in 2017, has passed 250 million streams in North America. In 2022 he released the album Truth and the single "One Look" featuring Leona Lewis. As a broadcaster he presents Classical Connections on Apple Music 1, and in March 2021 he became Scala Radio's composer in residence. In June 2025 he was sworn in as an Honorary Fellow at Homerton College, Cambridge.
