anaiis

Few artists wear their travels as openly as anaiis. Born in Toulouse and moved through Dublin, Dakar, Oakland, New York and London, she is a French-Senegalese songwriter raised in America who now works from London. Her music is hard to pin to one place: the style shifts, the lyrics turn inward, and she sings in several languages with the ease of a singer at home in each. That restless movement is what makes her worth paying attention to.

Before Zero, a 2018 EP, was followed by Darkness at Play, produced by Om'Mas Keith, and a run of singles including "Vanishing", performed on A COLORS Show. Her debut album, This Is No Longer a Dream, appeared in September 2021 on Dream Sequence Recordings. In 2024 she joined Biel Basile, Sessa and Marcelo Cabral as anaiis & Grupo Cosmo, whose self-titled seven-track project was performed live at BBC Maida Vale. Devotion & The Black Divine, released in 2025, was named an Album of the Year by BBC Radio 6 Music and The New Yorker. Her 2026 plans include a 13-date North American tour and her largest UK and European tour to date.
