About Andrew Bayer
Andrew Bayer is the American DJ and producer whose name is most closely tied to Anjunabeats and its English deep house sublabel, Anjunadeep. Born in Washington, D.C., he was given piano lessons his parents insisted on, but the lessons stuck. Trance DJs Tiësto and Ferry Corsten drew him into electronic music as a teenager, and by 2001, at fifteen, he was producing professionally. He later studied music synthesis at Berklee College of Music.
His first project, Signalrunners, started in 2003 with the Scottish producer Alan Nimmo, and the duo's releases included "Meet Me In Montauk" and "Leaving London". His debut album, It's Artificial, came out on Anjunabeats in July 2011 and spans trance, glitch hop, dubstep and techno. Its follow-up, If It Were You, We'd Never Leave, arrived in 2013 with a more downtempo sound, and the album peaked at number 19 on the US Dance chart. Grammy nominations followed for his production on Above & Beyond's "We're All We Need" in 2015 and "Northern Soul" in 2018, and his third album, In My Last Life, came out in August 2018.
