About April + VISTA

Out of Washington, D.C.'s underground, April George and Matthew Thompson, who work together as April + VISTA, have built a sound from the edges of downtempo, alt-rock, soul and classical music. Their arrangements are dense and layered, stacking textures until a track feels more like a room than a song. Under the indietronica and instrumental labels, their work keeps electronic production and melody in close conversation.

Their profile has grown through press and touring. The Fader, NPR, Afropunk and BBC Radio 1Xtra have all written about them, and they have toured internationally with Little Dragon and Little Simz. An appearance on COLORS STUDIOS, the Berlin-based platform, followed, and their music has turned up in Dear White People, the Emmy-winning I May Destroy You and the feature film Really Love. Pit of My Dreams, which they produced themselves, moves into a darker, grittier sound than its 2018 predecessor, You Are Here, and it is their first venture into spatial audio, made with immersive engineer Christopher Willits.
