About Atlanta Rhythm Section

Atlanta Rhythm Section grew out of studio work. Formed in 1970 by former members of the Candymen and the Classics IV, the American Southern rock band first served as the session group at Studio One, a newly opened recording studio in Doraville, Georgia, just outside Atlanta. Their greatest chart success arrived with Ronnie Hammond at the microphone between 1972 and 1982, and he returned for a further stint from 1988 to 2001, which makes the band's history as much a story of singers as of songs.

Their 1974 album Third Annual Pipe Dream, released by Polydor, gave them the single "Doraville", which reached #35. A Rock and Roll Alternative climbed to #13 and went gold, and Champagne Jam, their 1978 best-seller, was certified platinum and carried "Imaginary Lover" and "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight". That summer they played Knebworth before 60,000, a Dallas festival before more than 80,000 and Mosport Park in Ontario before over 110,000. Underdog in 1979 produced a remake of "Spooky". The current lineup features Justo alongside drummer Rodger Stephan and bassist Justin Senker.
