About Bella White
Bella White, born Isabel Farley White, grew up hearing bluegrass at home before building her own songs out of it. The Canadian-American singer-songwriter and guitarist was raised in Calgary, Alberta, where her Virginia-born father played in bluegrass bands and first introduced her to traditional music. Her Americana work blends the Appalachian tradition of her youth with contemporary songwriting, and critics point to introspective themes and sparse, acoustic arrangements as its defining traits.
Her debut album, Just Like Leaving, appeared independently in 2020, recorded in Vermont and produced by Patrick M'Gonigle, and Rolling Stone praised her writing in an Appalachian vein. Rounder Records reissued it in 2021 and released her second album, Among Other Things, produced by Jonathan Wilson at Fivestarstudios in Topanga, California. In April 2023 she made her Grand Ole Opry debut, and her song Burn Me Once turned up on The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. A cover-song EP, Five for Silver, followed in 2024, and her third album, A Sign In The Weather, arrived in 2026. Festival appearances include Newport Folk and Stagecoach, and she has toured with The Paper Kites, Sierra Ferrell and The Milk Carton Kids.
