Two brothers from Manila, Paolo and Miguel Benjamin Guico, built the sound that became Ben&Ben, a Filipino indie and folk-pop band whose songs lean on acoustic guitar before swelling into anthemic choruses. Their lyrics tend toward loss, heartbreak and the slow work of learning to love yourself, a subject that gives the music a reflective, unhurried weight. They began in 2016 under the name The Benjamins, taken from their second given names, and by the following year had grown into a nine-member ensemble with their current name.
Their debut EP, released through Warner Music Philippines on 17 December 2016, carried the singles "Leaves" and "Kathang Isip". Under Sony Music Philippines they released the album Limasawa Street in 2019, and its single "Pagtingin" earned the Awit Award for Best Performance by a Group Recording Artist. Pebble House, Vol. 1: Kuwaderno (2021) took the Awit Award for Album of the Year and appeared on NME's list of the 25 best Asian albums that year. Their Awit wins continued into 2023 with "Paninindigan Kita", and they have amassed over two billion streams and are the most-streamed Filipino artist of all time on Spotify.
