About Brent Faiyaz

Brent Faiyaz first reached a wider audience as a guest on GoldLink's 2016 single "Crew", alongside Shy Glizzy, a track that climbed to number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100. Born Christopher Brent Wood in Columbia, Maryland, the American singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer is known for sly vocals set against atmospheric, slow-jam productions, with occasional rapping threaded through. That blend of smooth delivery and hip-hop instinct defines his work.

He started out with the EPs Sunset Ave. in 2013 and Black Child later that year, then released A.M. Paradox in 2016 on his own independent label, Lost Kids. That year he also formed the R&B trio Sonder, where he sings lead, and his debut studio album, Sonder Son, followed in 2017. His first Billboard 200 entry came with the 2020 EP Fuck the World, which peaked at number 20. Wasteland, his second album, reached number two on the Billboard 200 and produced "Gravity", "Wasting Time" and "Price of Fame", plus the TikTok-viral "Dead Man Walking". Larger than Life debuted at number 11 in 2023, and The Live Experience, a live album, arrived in 2024.
