About BRUIT ≤
Named after the French word for noise, Bruit is a quartet from Toulouse working where post-rock, ambient and classical music meet. Its line-up brings together violin, cello, guitar, synths, bass and drums, a mix that lets the group move between quiet, chamber-like passages and rock-driven ones. Instrumental music of this kind asks listeners to attend closely to texture and gradual build, and the band's catalogue rewards that patience with a sound that feels deliberate rather than decorative.
Formed in 2016, the group released the EP MONOLITH in 2018. The album The Machine Is Burning and Now Everyone Knows It Could Happen Again followed in 2021, and the EP Apologie du temps perdu, Vol. 1 arrived in 2023. The most recent release is the album The Age of Ephemerality, issued in 2025. Over that period the line-up has changed, with former drummer and bassist members now listed among the group's past players.
