About Car Bomb

Few mathcore acts can trace their beginnings to a rehearsal room beneath a butcher's shop in Rockville Centre, New York, but that is where Car Bomb took shape. Their roots reach back to around 2000, when members of Neck and Spooge shared the space, and the side project took its name in 2002. Kerrang! heard their experimental, extremely aggressive metal as psychotic turbo-thrash that reworks the time-chopping attack of Meshuggah and The Dillinger Escape Plan.

Their debut album, Centralia, arrived through Relapse Records on 6 February 2007, after a 2004 demo previewed early versions of "Rid", "M^6" and "His Eyes". Relapse dropped them in 2011, and later releases came out independently via Bandcamp. The second album, w^w^^w^w, followed in 2012 with a guest vocal from Gojira's Joseph Duplantier, who returned for Meta in October 2016. Their 2019 album, Mordial, was released on 27 September, preceded by the single "Dissect Yourself".
