About Chloe Qisha
Before she was a London-based singer, Chloe Qisha was a teenager in Kuala Lumpur, and her music still carries the imprint of both places. Her style leans into a wistful, retro-tinged pop sensibility, one she has herself described as nostalgic and alternative in equal measure. That lineage traces back to the disco her parents played at home, with ABBA, the Bee Gees and Talking Heads sitting alongside LCD Soundsystem and Tears for Fears in her listening history.
Qisha left Malaysia at sixteen for boarding school in England, then completed a psychology degree and went on to a master's in communication. It was during her university years that she began posting song covers to YouTube, the first public step in a career that has since drawn attention from the BBC, where she appeared on the Sound of 2026 shortlist. Her touchstones range from Troye Sivan, whom she counts among her earliest devotees and credits as a formative presence when she started writing, to Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream", which she regards as central to her own catalogue. She also names Rosal\u00eda, Holly Humberstone and Anderson Paak among the artists she admires.
