About Cory Henry

Few keyboard players move between jazz, gospel and studio production as fluently as Cory Henry. Born in Brooklyn, he was playing piano and B3 organ by the age of two, and at six he had already performed at the Apollo Theater. The American organist, pianist and producer spent time as a member of Snarky Puppy before striking out on his own, and his playing draws on that gospel grounding alongside a wide range of mainstream and soul-leaning collaborations.

His solo career began in 2018 when he left Snarky Puppy, releasing the single "Trade It All" with his band The Funk Apostles in April and the album Art of Love that July. He followed it with Something to Say in October 2020, which included "No Guns" written by Marc E. Bassy, and Best of Me in September 2021, on which he played vocals, Hammond B3, Moog and Harpejji. He also appeared on Kanye West's Donda. In 2022 he released Operation Funk, and in September of that year he announced plans to retire from the music business so he could play for his own enjoyment.
