About Danielle Nicole

Born Danielle Nicole Schnebelen in Kansas City, Missouri, the singer and bassist works at the meeting point of blues and soul. Before launching her own name, she played in Trampled Under Foot with her brothers Kris and Nick Schnebelen. That band's album Badlands won Contemporary Blues Album of the Year at the 2014 Blues Music Awards, the same night Nicole, then performing as Danielle Schnebelen, took the bass instrumentalist prize. She writes much of her own material, and on The Love You Bleed nearly every song is hers or co-written.

Her self-titled solo EP arrived on Concord Records in March 2015, featuring Anders Osborne, Stanton Moore and Mike Sedovic, and her debut album Wolf Den followed that September, reaching number 2 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart. Second album Cry No More topped the same chart in March 2018, and the album's track 'Save Me' was used in a February 2019 episode of S.W.A.T. The Love You Bleed, released on Forty Below Records in January 2024, went to number 1 on the Billboard Blues Chart in its second week, and in May 2024 she won the Blues Music Award for Contemporary Blues Female Artist.
