About Danny Gonzalez
Few careers chart the move from six-second clips to a full-time YouTube living as neatly as Danny Gonzalez's. Born Daniel James Gonzalez on 12 June 1994 in Chicago, he grew up in Wheaton, Illinois, and went on to graduate from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in computational media. His work is built on commentary about Internet culture, criticism of YouTube, B movies and broader cultural critique, and he gives that analysis a comic edge with parody songs. He calls his fanbase, collectively, "Greg".
He first drew notice on Vine in 2014, where green-screen effects set his clips apart, most famously a video that put shoes on the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park. With 2.9 million followers when the app closed in January 2017, he moved to YouTube, where his Troom Troom reaction videos in 2018 helped define his channel. In 2019 he and Drew Gooden took their We Are Two Different People Tour, with Kurtis Conner as a guest, and released the parody "We Are Not the Same Person" to promote it. As of October 2026, his six channels have around 10.42 million subscribers and 2.4 billion views.
