About Dasha

Anna Dasha Novotny grew up in San Luis Obispo, California, where she started in musical theatre at five and later learned guitar and piano. The American singer-songwriter, who is of Czech descent, works across country and pop, and her influences range from Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves to Tove Styrke and Dominic Fike. Her father managed her early bookings in coffee shops and wineries, and her older brother Bardo, a guitarist with Beauty School Dropout, helped produce her music. She was thirteen when she released her first song.

Her EPs are $hiny Things (2021) and Anna (2025), and her albums Dirty Blonde (2023) and What Happens Now? (2024) followed. The turning point so far is "Austin", released in November 2023 as a country turn that became her first Billboard chart entry, peaking at No. 18 on the Hot 100 in June 2024 and reaching the top ten in Belgium (Flanders), Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom. She signed with Warner Records that month, and performed the song at the CMT Music Awards in Austin, Texas, at Allsång på Skansen in Sweden and at the Canadian Country Music Awards.
