About David Ritschard
Before committing to music full time, David Ritschard worked in grocery shops across Söderort and at the Systembolaget on Södermalm, a detour that sits behind his songwriting. Born in Huddinge parish in Stockholm County in 1989, the Swedish singer and songwriter still lives in the southern districts where he grew up. He plays with The Green Line Travelers and Spinning Jennies, but his solo debut, Brobrännaren, came out in 2019 and marked him out as a songwriter.
The single "Vi ses snart igen", made with Magnus Carlson in 2020, is a tribute to Hammarby IF and spread quickly among the club's supporters. His second album, Blåbärskungen, followed in 2021, and in 2022 he resolved to devote himself wholly to music, a year that also brought "Triumfera" with Lisa Ekdahl and the Årets Singer/Songwriter prize at Manifestgalan. A guest spot on Jills veranda in March 2023 ended early after a blackout, and in August he collapsed on stage shortly after performing on the season finale of Allsång på Skansen. His third album, Detta har hänt, appeared in 2023, and he has since acted in the films Jönssonligan kommer tillbaka and Gröna linjen.
