About Den Svenska Bjornstammen
Seven musicians from Norrköping operate under the name Den Svenska Björnstammen, which translates as "The Swedish Bear Population". Formed in 2010, the group brings together Dan Brännvall, Kim Dahlberg, Petter Frisendahl, Ambjörn Göransson, Mattias Göransson, Klas Isaksson and Åke Olofsson to make Swedish-language pop. The band was first signed to Pope Records, a label with a distribution arrangement with Universal Music Sweden dating back to 2009, which placed its releases within reach of a major distributor.
Their public breakthrough followed a spot among the three finalists in the Metro on Stage competition. In 2011 the band released "Vart jag mig i världen vänder" ("Wherever I Turn in the World"), a song that topped Sverigetopplistan, Sweden's national record chart, for six weeks. Its follow-up singles, "Svalkar vinden" and "Trumma Trumma" ("Drum Drum"), also charted, suggesting that the success was not confined to one song.
