Draconian

Thirty years after it took shape in Säffle, Draconian still carries a thread from its beginnings, as Anders Jacobsson and Johan Ericson remain the only founding members still active. The Swedish gothic metal group started in 1994 as Kerberos, playing melodic death metal with black metal influences, before the name changed to Draconian seven months later when Jacobsson joined as lead vocalist and lyricist.

Their debut, Where Lovers Mourn, arrived in 2003 through Napalm Records, followed by Arcane Rain Fell in 2005 and Turning Season Within in 2008. A Rose for the Apocalypse appeared in 2011, with a music video for The Last Hour of Ancient Sunlight. Sovran followed in 2015 and Under a Godless Veil in 2020. Lisa Johansson rejoined the band in 2022 after Heike Langhans stepped away, and in 2025 Daniel Johansson succeeded Jerry Torstensson on drums. An eighth studio album was announced in February 2026.
