Eslabon Armado

Growing up in Patterson, California, Pedro and Brian Tovar absorbed sierreño music from northwestern Mexico through their father, and it became the foundation of Eslabón Armado, the regional Mexican group they formed with their friend Gabriel Hidalgo. Pedro began writing songs at just ten years old, drawing on that family passion and his own love of romantic films. The band's name, meaning a united chain, reflects the bond and collaborative spirit that has carried the project since its beginnings.

Their breakthrough came with Tu Veneno Mortal, recorded in less-than-ideal garage conditions, which reached No. 9 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart. The single "Con Tus Besos", which Pedro nearly left off the record, became their first entry on the Hot Latin Songs chart. Later, "Ella Baila Sola", featuring Peso Pluma, climbed to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped Hot Latin Songs, and the group's 2022 album Nostalgia reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200. Desvelado followed in 2023 with a No. 6 debut on that chart. In October 2023, the group performed "La Fresa", with Gabito Ballesteros, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
