About Eyes Set To Kill
Few metalcore bands are as closely tied to a pair of sisters as Eyes Set to Kill, whose core has long been built around the Rodriguez family. Formed in Tempe, Arizona, in 2003, the group takes its name from a line in a poem Alexia wrote at school, and the sisters have remained central ever since. Alexia moved from lead guitar to fronting the band after vocalist Lindsey Vogt left, while Anissa, on bass, stepped away in late 2016 before rejoining in 2023.
The band's profile grew steadily through its early records. The debut full-length, Reach, appeared in February 2008, followed by The World Outside in June 2009, which sold 2,400 copies in the US in its first week. Broken Frames, released in June 2010, was ranked fifth on the Locals Only list of the year's best albums and EPs, and the band has been featured on the cover of USA Today and in Alternative Press's 100 Bands You Need to Know. After signing with Century Media in 2012, they released Masks in September 2013, followed by the self-titled album in February 2018 and the DAMNA EP in December 2021. Their most recent single noted here is Wilderness, issued in July 2024.
