About Fake Names

Fake Names are a punk band from Brooklyn, and their line-up reads like a roll call of underground history. Guitarist Brian Baker has played with Bad Religion, Dag Nasty and Minor Threat, while fellow guitarist Michael Hampton has served in State Of Alert and Embrace. Vocalist Dennis Lyxzén brings the experience of Refused and The International Noise Conspiracy, and bassist Johnny Temple comes from Girls Against Boys and Soulside. The project gathers musicians whose earlier bands are well known, and that history gives the new group its weight.

Their debut, self-titled Fake Names, came out in 2020, and a Fake Names EP followed in 2021. That year drummer Brendan Canty, previously of Fugazi and Rites of Spring, guested on the track '2249992'. By the time the band recorded its sophomore album Expendables in 2022, Canty had joined as a full member, and the record was released in 2023.
