FRIDAYY

Francis Leblanc, the Philadelphia singer and rapper who performs as Fridayy, sits comfortably where gospel meets hip-hop. His baritone usually rides over instrumentals he produces himself, and he blends R&B with rap, gospel and Afrobeats. American Songwriter has credited him with bringing a more R&B and gospel-inspired sound to a scene dominated by rappers. He began playing piano, bass and guitar at six, drawing on his time in the church where his father is a pastor, and he started producing at fourteen after his cousin Marco gave him his first laptop.

His breakthrough came through guest work. In 2022 he appeared on Lil Baby's "Forever", which reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, and on the title track of DJ Khaled's God Did, which earned three Grammy nominations. He signed with Def Jam Recordings that year. His self-titled debut album arrived in August 2023, and its single "When It Comes to You" gave him his first Hot 100 entry as a lead artist, later certified platinum by the RIAA. In 2024 he toured as the opening act for Buju Banton's The Overcomer Tour. In February 2025 he released Some Days I'm Good, Some Days I'm Not, which includes "Proud of Me" with Meek Mill and peaked at number 51 on the Billboard 200.
