About Glasvegas
Out of Glasgow came an indie rock band whose story begins with two cousins. James Allan and Rab Allan formed the group in the summer of 2003, with James on vocals and Rab on lead guitar, and Paul Donoghue joined soon after on bass. Frequent local gigs shaped the band, and their demo "Daddy's Gone" carried their reputation well beyond the city.
Their self-titled debut, released in September 2008, reached No. 2 in the UK Albums Chart, earned a Mercury Music Prize nomination the following year and went Gold in Sweden. Their Christmas EP, A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like a Kiss), followed that December and was recorded in Transylvania. Second album Euphoric Heartbreak, recorded in a Santa Monica beach house, reached No. 10 in the UK and No. 1 in Sweden, though it drew mixed reviews. Later...When the TV Turns to Static arrived in 2013 after a move to BMG, and in 2020 "Keep Me a Space" became their first single in seven years.
