About Good Lovelies

Harmony comes first for Good Lovelies, the Canadian trio whose sound is rooted in folk and Americana, with touches of pop and western swing. Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore hail from Whitby, Port Hope and Cobourg, and their three voices are the heart of everything they do.

The three first shared a bill for a single show at Toronto's Gladstone Hotel on 15 December 2006, and kept working together. Their debut EP, Oh My, came out in 2007, the year they played the Ottawa Folk Festival. Their self-titled full-length album followed in 2009 and won the Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year - Group in 2010. Christmas became a theme with Under the Mistletoe, which launched a tour tradition that still runs. A 2011 overseas trip took them to the Australian National Folk Festival and the Evolution Festival in Newcastle upon Tyne. Shapeshifters (2018) marked a move towards pop, and We Will Never Be The Same (2023) earned a 2024 Juno nomination. Their 2024 collaboration with Raffi, Penny Penguin, won the Juno for Children's Album of the Year in 2025.
