Gregor Meyle

Few German singer-songwriters arrived in public view by way of a late-night talent slot, yet that is how Gregor Meyle, born on 13 October 1978, first made his name. Known as a singer-songwriter, he came to wider notice through the talent competition staged on Stefan Raab's late-night programme TV total in late 2007, where he auditioned and went on to finish second, behind Stefanie Heinzmann. Finishing second put his songwriting in front of a national audience, and it remains the starting point of his public story.

His profile grew further in 2014, when he joined Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert, the German version of The Best Singers, a series in which performers swap songs and sing one another's material. In April 2020 he was infected with SARS-CoV-2, and the illness forced a two-week pause in The Masked Singer, the German show in which he was a contestant. Between the talent contest and the television formats that followed, his public profile has been built largely on screen.
