About HANA
Born in Tokyo in 2006 to a Pennsylvania-born American father and a Japanese mother, Hana Hope spent her childhood between two languages and two cultures. She started out singing with a ukulele at home and in local live houses, and her voice drew the attention of Yukihiro Takahashi, who signed her as a singer. Writing her own songs from around the age of eleven, she has since moved from those intimate beginnings into studio work with a wide range of collaborators.
At thirteen she took part in Yellow Magic Children, the concert marking YMO's fortieth anniversary, and it was there that her professional singing career began. Collaborations followed with TOWA TEI, who gave her the lead vocal on 'MAGIC' in 2020, and ROTH BART BARON. Her indie debut came in 2022 on UMAA with 'Sentiment / Your Song', and the 2023 album HUES placed second in the J-POP / Kayokyoku category of Music Magazine's best albums of that year. Her major debut followed that July with 'flowers', the theme for Fate/Grand Order Memorial Movie 2023. Between the Stars arrived in 2025, and in August she played Written In The Stars at Daikanyama UNIT.
