About Henge

Few British rock acts from Manchester have built their identity so deliberately around invented characters. Henge, who style their name in capitals, perform as the fictional figures Zpor, Goo, Sol and Nom, and they describe their music as Cosmic Dross, a crossover of electronic and rock sounds. The mix leaves room for synthesizers and bass to sit alongside guitar and drums, and the persona conceit gives the band a distinctive public face.

Their story begins with Cosmic Dross, a five-track EP released in July 2017 on Love Love Records, which takes its title from the genre. According to their agent's page, its electronic eccentricity helped establish them with the alternative festival crowd. Their debut album, Attention Earth!, followed on 19 October 2018. The line-up has included Matthew Whitaker, Pete Turner, Roy Medhurst and Sam Draper, with Medhurst previously performing as Grok before taking on the role of Sol.
