About Huey Morgan
Huey Morgan is an American musician and DJ whose voice and guitar shaped the sound of Fun Lovin' Criminals for years, a band that fused rock and hip hop with jazz, reggae and funk. Born to Puerto Rican-American and Irish-American parents, he turned a turbulent youth into a career behind the decks in New York City clubs, a path that caught the eye of EMI scouts. Today his best-known broadcasting work is The Huey Show on Virgin Radio, which follows seventeen years hosting on BBC Radio 6 Music.
The band was formed in 1993 with Brian "Fast" Leiser and Steve Borgovini, and during Morgan's time with them they released six studio albums, three reaching the UK top 10, and scored eight UK top 40 singles. Outside the group he guested on Plan B's "Prayin'" in 2010 and worked with JetTricks on "See Us Through" in 2012, the same year he issued his solo debut, Say It to My Face, credited to Huey and the New Yorkers. He left Fun Lovin' Criminals in November 2021 and in September 2025 published his autobiography, The Fun Lovin' Criminal.
