Ignite

Ignite built their reputation the old-fashioned way, by playing almost everywhere. The American melodic hardcore band, formed in 1993 in Orange County, California, had visited more than 40 countries by the time their commercial breakthrough arrived, and that constant touring earned them a devoted following among hardcore fans. Their lyrics are socially and politically engaged, and the band has given proceeds from its work to groups including Earth First, Doctors Without Borders, Sea Shepherd and Pacific Wildlife. Environmental concerns, vegetarianism and the legacy of Soviet Communism in Eastern Europe recur throughout their records, partly reflecting the Hungarian background of singer Zoltán "Zoli" Téglás.

Their first album, Scarred for Life, appeared in 1994, and the EP In My Time followed in 1995. A dispute with Lost & Found over master tapes led the band to hand over the rights to the Family LP, which reached America as Call on My Brothers. After moving to Revelation, they released the EP Past Our Means in 1996, and VISIONS magazine named them the third best live band of that year. Their commercial breakthrough came with A Place Called Home in 2000 on TVT Records, and Our Darkest Days followed on Abacus Recordings in 2006. Téglás was announced as joining Pennywise in 2010, and the fifth album, A War Against You, released in January 2016, reached number twelve in Germany, the band's first chart position, and number five in Hungary.
