About Illdisposed
Built on groove, melody and a dense wall of sound, Illdisposed have ranked among the leading death metal bands of the Nordic scene since the early 1990s. The Aarhus band, formed in 1991 by vocalist Bo Summer and guitarist Lasse Bak, favours groovy rhythms and melodic yet hard-hitting riffs, with the vocals pushed to the fore. As of 2020 the line-up is Summer, guitarists Jakob Batten and Rasmus Henriksen, bassist Kussen and drummer Rasmus Schmidt, and their catalogue runs to fifteen albums and two EPs.
The debut, Four Depressive Seasons, arrived in 1993 after the demo The Winter of Our Discontempt had led to a deal with Nuclear Blast Records, and that December the band toured Europe supporting Wargasm and Sinister. Submit and There's Something Rotten... In the State of Denmark followed, then the tribute album Retro in 2000 and Kokaiinum in 2001. Their most successful album, 1-800 Vindication, came out in 2004 on Roadrunner Records, and Burn Me Wicked followed in 2006. At the With Full Force festival in Germany they played The Prestige to more than 70,000 people. In 2009 Massacre Records released To Those Who Walk Behind Us, and the original line-up reunited in June 2012.
