About Imminence
From the Swedish town of Trelleborg, Imminence have spent more than a decade pulling metalcore towards wider horizons. Their style has been described as symphonic and atmospheric metalcore, alt-rock and violincore, and the list of influences runs from In Flames and Linkin Park to Sigur Rós, Bon Iver and Johann Sebastian Bach. Eddie Berg handles vocals, with Harald Barrett on rhythm guitar, Alex Arnoldsson on lead guitar and Christian Höijer on bass.
Their debut EP, Born of Sirius, appeared in 2012, and the same year they played Metaltown Festival. In 2013 they signed to We Are Triumphant Records, releasing the EP Return for Helios. The debut album I followed in 2014, and the single The Sickness in 2015 marked a move to Arising Empire. Turn the Light On (2019) returned to a harder sound after the alt-rock experiment of This Is Goodbye. Heaven in Hiding was likened to Architects. The Black arrived in April 2024, and in September 2025 Peter Hanström left, with Mikael Norén filling in on tour. Their sixth album, Axis Mundi, is due on 2 October 2026.
