About Inner Terrestrials

Few punk bands from South London wear their politics as openly as Inner Terrestrials, who also go by iT!. Their sound draws on punk, dub, ska and a touch of folk, but it is the lyrics that set them apart: they are often aggressively political, taking on anarchism, animal rights, land ownership, the class system and war. Staunchly anti-establishment, they work only with underground and DIY distributors and collectives, a choice that has earned them a reputation across the underground punk and squatter scene in the UK and Europe.

They played their first gig at the Queen Adelaide pub in Penge on 14 February 1994, and have gigged every year since, reaching Réunion Island and Japan as well as the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. In 2009 they shared a bill with the Fun Lovin' Criminals to raise money for direct action against logging, and in February 2015 they played a fundraiser in Uplands, Swansea, for victims of the Gaza–Israel conflict. Paco Carreno, formerly of Conflict, drummed on the 1996 debut album before his health interrupted his time with the band, and Ben Swan joined at the start of 2014.
