Invent Animate

From Port Neches, Texas, Invent Animate arrived in 2011 as an American metalcore group with a clear ear for djent's rhythmic precision. Their early momentum came from the online djent community, where blogs circulated their debut EP, Waves, self-released in March 2012. Its track "Captive" featured Brendon McMaster of deathcore band The Crimson Armada. Regional touring followed, with support slots alongside Capsize, Elitist and Erra, before the band's name began to travel further.

Signing with Tragic Hero Records in February 2014 gave the group a wider platform. Everchanger, their debut studio album, followed that August, and its closing track "Luna" paid tribute to drummer Trey Celaya's late brother. Stillworld arrived in July 2016, and Greyview, released on March 13, 2020, was the first album to feature vocalist Marcus Vik. Their most recent record, Heavener, came out through UNFD on March 17, 2023, after the move from Tragic Hero to the Australian label.
