Jake Vaadeland

Jake Vaadeland writes and sings country and bluegrass from Cut Knife, Saskatchewan, and brings a songwriter's attention to both traditions. He performs with his supporting band, the Sturgeon River Boys, which gives his material a fuller, band-driven sound. At the Juno Awards of 2025, Retro Man...More and More won Traditional Roots Album of the Year.

Vaadeland released two independent EPs in 2021 and his debut album, Everybody But Me, in 2022. In autumn 2023 he and the Sturgeon River Boys opened for the Hunter Brothers on their Burnin' Down the Bar Tour across Canada. In 2024 he signed a publishing deal with Arts & Crafts Productions and a distribution deal with the Jayward Artist Group, and released Retro Man...More and More, an expansion of his 2021 EP. On 25 April 2025 came his third album, One More Dollar to Go, which took Alternative Country Album of the Year at the 2025 Canadian Country Music Association Awards.
