About Jayda G

Few house producers have travelled a path as unexpected as Jayda G's. Born Jayda Guy and raised in Grand Forks, British Columbia, a town of roughly 4,000 people just north of the Canada-U.S. border, she first found her way into music by digging through online catalogues on Napster, moving from Jimi Hendrix to house. Her route to the DJ booth ran through a biology degree, work at a Vancouver aquarium and a master's in environmental toxicology.

A move to Berlin in 2016 marked the point where DJing became a serious pursuit, and that year she released her first solo project, Jaydaisms, on an independent label she set up with Fett Burger. After her debut album Significant Changes arrived in early 2019, she relocated to London. The EP Both of Us / Are You Down followed in July 2020, and its song "Both of Us" earned a Grammy nomination at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. She also remixed Dua Lipa's "Cool" for Club Future Nostalgia. In 2023 she made Blue Carbon, a 60-minute documentary with CNN Films and Conservation International on sea grasses and mangroves, filmed across six countries.
