About Kabelo Mabalane

Kabelo Mabalane works across the studio, the stage and the screen, recording under the names Bouga 2 Shoes and Bouga Luv. A South African kwaito musician, songwriter and actor, he is best known as a member of the trio TKZee and co-owned Faith Records, an independent label. His work is rooted in kwaito's township grooves, and he has opened shows for Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Ja Rule and Rihanna.

Rebel With A Cause followed with It's My House and Ayeye, reaching double platinum, and won him the best kwaito album prize at the South African Music Awards in 2003. Its successor, And the Beat Goes On, reached triple platinum with 150,000 copies sold and the singles Zonke and Reverse Yomhlaba. In 2004 he took the Kora Award for Best Southern Africa Male Artist, and in 2010 he performed with TKZee at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.
