Kandis

Seen from outside Denmark, the name Kandis may be unfamiliar, but at home the group has been a regular presence on the charts. Kandis is a dansband made up of five members: Johnny Hansen, who sings and plays guitar, together with Frank Thøgersen, Mads Hyldahl, Ole Svendsen and Jens Erik Jensen. Formed in 1989, they have built their career within the dansband format.

Their biggest hit arrived in 1993 with "En lille ring af guld", which topped the Danish Danse Charts for a total of 33 weeks. Their albums have since regularly charted in the Top 5 of the Danish Albums Chart, among them Kandis 12 from 2008 and Kandis 14 from 2011. Johnny Hansen has also pursued a solo career, releasing Godmorgen verden in 1999, Lidt efter lidt in 2001 and Mit ferieparadis in 2006.
