About KennyHoopla
Between Cleveland, Ohio and Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where he spent much of his childhood, Kenneth La'ron Beasley built the persona KennyHoopla, an American indie rock singer, songwriter and musician whose sound reaches into new wave, dance-punk and pop punk. His earliest musical memory is a freestyle rap he recorded on a cassette toy his mother gave him at around ten, which he has since called horrible.
He began posting songs to SoundCloud in 2016, and his Beneath the Willow Tree EP drew praise from music blogs that considered him an artist to watch. He signed with Arista Records in 2018, but the song that changed his profile was "How Will I Rest in Peace if I'm Buried by a Highway?", released in February 2020, which passed a million YouTube views and reached number 8 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. Its EP followed in May, and "Estella", featuring Travis Barker on drums, came out in November 2020. Following his departure from Arista, he issued Conditions of an Orphan in September 2025, an EP produced by Zac Farro of Paramore, ahead of a UK and Ireland headline tour with dates in Glasgow, Manchester, London and Bristol.
