About Kingfishr
Kingfishr build their indie folk around an unusual mix of instruments, with a harmonica, banjo and mandolin sitting alongside guitar. The Limerick group is made up of Eddie Keogh, who sings lead and plays guitar and harmonica, Eoghan "McGoo" McGrath on banjo, mandolin and backing vocals, and Eoin "Fitz" Fitzgibbon on guitar and backing vocals. The three first met at college in 2017, and that friendship became the basis of a band that took shape in Limerick in 2022.
Their first release was the single "Flowers-Fire", issued on 29 April 2022, followed in March 2024 by the debut EP Shadow. Live from Dublin came out in July 2024, and in May 2025 "Killeagh" gave the band their first number one on the Irish Singles Chart. Their debut studio album, Halcyon, arrived in August 2025, debuting at number one on the Irish Albums Chart and reaching number seven in the UK album chart. In 2026 they earned a second Irish number-one single with "The Sun Will Never Settle".
