About Lane 8

Daniel Goldstein, the American producer and DJ who records as Lane 8, works from Denver, Colorado, yet his music has found its home on the English deep house label Anjunadeep. His path began in garage rock with his sibling as children, before he turned to hip-hop beats shaped by Pete Rock and DJ Premier. By 2012 his sound had settled into something between pulsing electronica and a woozier, glitch-pop haze, a blend that drew the attention of Anjunadeep A&R executive Jody Wisternoff. Pete Tong called him a "Future Star".

He signed to Anjunadeep in 2013 and released his debut studio album, Rise, on July 17, 2015, featuring vocal contributions from Solomon Grey, Patrick Baker and Matthew Dear. Its lead single, "Ghost", arrived with a remix EP. His later albums followed in steady succession: Little by Little in 2018, Brightest Lights in 2020, Reviver in 2022 and Childish in September 2024, the last with cover art by his daughter. Alongside these he founded This Never Happened in 2016, a label that has issued ten volumes of the Root to Branch compilation series as of 2024.
