About The Lathums

Out of a college music project in Pemberton came The Lathums, a Wigan four-piece whose indie rock has been measured against the Smiths and Arctic Monkeys. Alex Moore sings and writes, alongside Scott Concepcion on lead guitar, Matty Murphy on bass and Ryan Durrans on drums. Concepcion has said his influences are drawn from many places across British musical history.

Their debut album, How Beautiful Life Can Be, appeared in September 2021 and entered the UK Albums Chart at number one the following month. It gathered earlier singles, remastered alongside new songs. In December 2022 'Say My Name' was named Radio X Record of the Year, and the following June the band made their Glastonbury debut on the Other Stage, playing a 45-minute set. Their second album, From Nothing to a Little Bit More, was announced in November 2022, and their third, Matter Does Not Define, followed in October with the single 'Stellar Cast'.
