About Lee Camp

Lee Camp began as a stand-up comic and has since built a career spanning comedy, writing, podcasting and news commentary. Born in 1980 at a military hospital in Washington, D.C., to a military doctor father, he grew up in Maryland and Virginia before studying English and psychology at the University of Virginia. His act took a political turn while he performed at colleges, leading to appearances at events such as Netroots Nation and Rock the Vote.

His early books reflected the same sensibility. Neither Sophisticated Nor Intelligent, published in 2002, gathered humour columns he had written for The Cavalier Daily, and the 2005 BIGfib Book of Bollocks, co-written with Nick Alexander and Alan Lord, drew on stories from the satirical site BIGfib.com. He has also contributed to The Onion and The Huffington Post. Camp hosted the weekly comedy news show Redacted Tonight on RT America for eight years, until the network closed after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. In July 2022 he launched Most Censored News with MintPress News, and he also runs the news show Dangerous Ideas on YouTube.
