Lindsey Stirling

Lindsey Stirling began as a violinist in Gilbert, Arizona, who refused to stand still while she played. The American performer, songwriter and musician builds her shows around choreography, pairing the instrument with dance in live sets and in the music videos she posts to her official YouTube channel, Lindseystomp, which she launched in 2007. Her repertoire moves freely from classical pieces by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Vivaldi to pop, rock and electronic dance music.

Her profile rose after she reached the quarter-finals of season five of America's Got Talent in 2010, where one judge doubted the dancing could carry the violin. The video for 'Crystallize' finished 2012 as the eighth-most watched video on YouTube, and her cover of 'Radioactive' with Pentatonix won Response of the Year at the first YouTube Music Awards in 2013. Her debut album sold 200,000 copies in Germany, earning platinum, and her second album, Shatter Me, took the Top Dance/Electronic Album prize at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. Forbes included her in its 30 Under 30 in Music list for 2015, and by May 2023 her channel had passed 13 million subscribers and three billion views.
