About Los Horoscopos De Durango
Los Horóscopos de Durango moved through several sounds without ever leaving regional Mexican behind. The band began in grupero, adopted the duranguense style just as it was becoming mainstream, and later turned to Sinaloan banda. Their live shows now blend the last two, with occasional detours into norteño-sax and mariachi. The group was founded by Armando Terrazas in Chicago in 1975.
From 2003 to 2021 the band was led by Armando's daughters, Vicky and Marisol Terrazas, and it was during those years that a run of awards arrived. In 2005 the group took three Billboard Music Awards, including Regional Mexican Album of the Year, and in 2006 it added two more, for album and song. Desatados won the Latin Grammy for Band Album of the Year in 2007, and Lo Nuestro named them Duranguense Artist of the Year in 2008. Their shows have sold out at The Novo by Microsoft, Arena CDMX and Auditorio Telmex. The sisters' rift was followed by a gradual reconciliation, and in May 2025 they confirmed a reunion under the Los Horóscopos de Durango name for anniversary concerts marking five decades since 1975.
