About Lynda Lemay
Lynda Lemay, born on 25 July 1966, is a Canadian singer-songwriter who writes and performs in French, with an audience that stretches across Quebec and France. Her family history reaches back to Zacharie Cloutier, a connection she traces through her mother, and it places her within the long French-speaking presence in North America. Her songs have found listeners on both sides of the Atlantic, and her career is rooted in the francophone world that shapes both her writing and her public.
Her career advanced after she won regional awards in 1989, a result that took her to France. Since then she has toured regularly in Quebec and France, with concerts that include a date at the Paris Olympia. Her recording Live was nominated at the 2000 Juno Awards as one of the best-selling Francophone albums, a recognition that highlighted its place in the French-language market. She continues to tour both countries, keeping her work in front of audiences on either side of the Atlantic.
