About Madina Lake

Few rock bands trace their beginnings as neatly as Madina Lake, whose story starts with two groups that were not quite working out. Brothers Nathan and Matthew Leone had been playing in the Blank Theory in Chicago, while drummer Dan Torelli and Mateo Camargo were in Reforma, and when the four became friends they chose to dissolve their separate bands and form something new. Their first show as Madina Lake took place at Chicago's Metro on 21 May 2005.

The early momentum came from an unexpected place: the Leones appeared on a special edition of Twin Fear Factor, and their winnings paid for the self-produced EP The Disappearance of Adalia, released in August 2006. A Roadrunner Records deal followed, and the debut album From Them, Through Us, to You arrived on 27 March 2007, entering the Billboard 200 at No. 154 and the UK chart at No. 60. That year the band also won Best International Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards. Attics to Eden came out in May 2009, The Dresden Codex EP followed in 2010, and the band disbanded in September 2013 before reuniting in February 2017.
