About Maggie Rose
Before she was Maggie Rose, she was Margaret Rose Durante, a singer from Potomac, Maryland who was performing with a Bruce Springsteen tribute act, The B Street Band, by her mid-teens. Her records fuse American soul and country with a big, commanding voice and a sense of the storyteller. Nashville became her base after she moved there in her sophomore year at Clemson University, encouraged by the former Sony Music chief Tommy Mottola, and the career since has moved between major and independent labels.
Her 2009 cover of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" came while she was with Universal Republic, then she moved to R&J Records, where "Mississippi's Crying" entered the Hot Country Songs chart. Her debut, Cut to Impress, arrived after she joined RPM under the Maggie Rose name; its lead single "I Ain't Your Mama" and follow-up "Better" both reached the Billboard Country Airplay Top 30. The 2016 EP Variety Show gave her "Love Me More", which Rolling Stone called genre-busting. Her 2018 album Change the Whole Thing followed on Starstruck Records, and in 2024 No One Gets Out Alive earned a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album at the 2025 Grammys.
