The Martinez Brothers

Steven and Chris Martinez grew up in The Bronx with music close at hand. Their father steered them into a church band, where they shared stages with much older musicians playing disco, soul and salsa, and later bought them their first set of DJ equipment. Today they work as a house music DJ and production duo, and their remixing has carried them from New York clubs to long residencies in Ibiza.

Dennis Ferrer, who heard their sets, mentored them, booked gigs at New York venues and signed them to his Objektivity label. A planned 2011 Ibiza residency alongside Ferrer at Ushuaïa collapsed at the last minute, but DC-10 booker Elliot Shaw secured them a slot instead, and they have played the club regularly since. In 2014 Mixmag named them its DJs of the year, putting them on the cover of its December issue. The same year they added percussion to Nile Rodgers's album It's About Time, and in May 2015 they released the free EP Masters at Dutch.
