Master Peace

Born in London to a Nigerian family, Peace Okezie moved through South East London, Morden and Surrey as a child, and that restlessness shapes the work he releases as Master Peace. Busted and McFly on television first sent him towards music, yet his listening pulled in several directions: UK rap, Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party. The result is a blend of rap and indie that Rolling Stone UK compared with Bloc Party, LCD Soundsystem and the Smiths.

Okezie's first EP, Love Bites, arrived in November 2020, largely drawn from his childhood, and NME called it unfiltered. Public Display Of Affection followed in July 2021. His debut album, How To Make A Master Peace, came out on 1 March 2024 and won him the Rising Star Ivor Novello Award that May. In October he followed it with the EP How To Make A(nuva) Master Peace, and in 2025 he supported Franz Ferdinand on their UK and US tours.
