About Movements
Out of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Movements have built a following on post-hardcore that refuses to stay in one lane. Their music mixes post-hardcore with soft grunge, alternative rock and spoken word, and they are generally considered part of the emo revival. The lyrics are shaped by vocalist Patrick Miranda's experience of obsessive–compulsive disorder, depression and anxiety, with heartbreak and strained relationships with parents running through the rest.
The band formed in January 2015 around guitarist Brett Chiodo and Patrick Miranda, and after a single local show they signed with Fearless Records that August. Their debut EP, Outgrown Things, arrived in March 2016, produced by Will Yip, and their debut album Feel Something followed in October 2017, peaking at number 190 on the Billboard 200. Later releases include No Good Left to Give in 2020 and Ruckus! in 2023, while Happier Now is dated 2026. The band confirmed that work on a fourth studio album would begin at the end of 2025.
